Big Diesel Engine wanted

Hi Guys

I am thinking I might take off the two 150 HPDI's and put a nice big diesel in, does anyone know of any decent engines for sale?

Thanks

Ben

I'm not sure what weight it can handle, I am waiting for someone to have a look and see what they think.

I am thinking of something like a Yanmar 300HP+, current outboards weight 400Kg or so, hanging off the transom. So hopefully, having a 300hp engine in the back should be similar in weight.

If you're looking at new engines Yanmar do a 3 litre 260hp @315kg without sterngear (we have two in a 34' boat) and the bigger 4.5 litre 370hp @ 450kg without sterndrive - either would do!

I'd sell the boat complete, and buy a diesel one, it'll work out cheaper and easier.

Depends on how much you want to spend - we could be persuaded to build a new boat for next year if you want our boat after November ........

Tony is right, i'm converting my Cougar from outboard to inboard diesel and its a lot of work and not straight forward. Also unless you find a cheep hull and cheep engine, it much cheaper to buy the boat you want. Its just that what I wanted has never been made.
