Could orda propose allowing non genuine coals to be used in the national class, as long as the air vents measure correctly and the inner tray is fitted. Certainly would be no performance gain, but would save teams some money on buy inferior quality genuine coals.

Are we thinking of a steam powered boat then Matt?
You should have a chat with Kitten. Or maybe willowpiss, she's an old boiler.

Interestingly the latest homolgation sheet I got from the RYA does not show the genuine alien cowl to be homologated either. If anybody has the update number for the alien cowl I'd be interested in a copy.

Hi Matt
This has been approved by the RYA last year - and covers cowlings for National status racing only. Obviously providing there is no performance advantage in terms of air flow, weight, aerodynamics whatever.

I could probably produce enough gas myself for a methane fired boiler
