hi guys

i own a ring ranger 25 with a 250 ho evinrude.

gonna be putting a yamaha 350 and also looking for a hydraulic jack plate.

been looking at a seastar hd 6 inch hydraulic jack plate which is a heavy duty model which can take up to a 350 hp

any recommendations on any other jack plates?

jackplate seastar vs Bobs machine 350

I've not seen the seastar jackplate, and never seen even one on a boat.
For a 6inches the price should be 1007USD plus shipping and VAT.
The hydraulic pump is include between the plates, so outside the boat.
On a bob's one you can choose the pump inside or outside.
But if you compare the size of the rod ram between a Bob's HD 350 hp and the seastar one, the bob's is 25.4mm and the seastar oen seems very thin!!
I prefer also the pump outside the jackplate not include like the seastar one or on the other bob's model.with the pump outside.
For Hard use in seawater , I've asked to MarK Pellini at bob's and he advise me to choose the model with pump outside.
If you compare the the guidance surface of the SS rods sliding in the horizontal spacers, they use less surface than the bob's design.

on the last bob's jackplate you get a patented system wich avoid the plate to slide out of the rails in case of broken ram rod.

seasatar pictures is the 6inches model

bob's pictures=
a 300hp one 4inches (used)
a 350hp one 4inches (new)
a view from the top between the 300hp4inches and the 350hp 4inches (check sides thickness and rod differences) then (check plate size on the side)
a 350hp rod size (new)
note you can order the transom backing plates too=
Item # for the upper and lower backing plate set is 110-200500.(last picture in the bottom)
