It used too be the case, as you could squeeze a lot out of the base block which was very light, old boy played around with an imp engine for IIIb but coupling the thing & g'box + leg made it cheaper by lots to go for an outboard.
Not sure what the cutting edge motor is now
more to the point is it a BluFin Hull ???
