Kevlar 20' cat for sale, merc 2.5, lifter etc

Hi all,

As i've mentioned a couple of times, i'm looking forward to my first baby in March next year

As a result of this i'm looking to change my boat for something a bit bigger and more family friendly... ish!
I've found the boat i want, so it's time for me to sell my cat.

She's a Lorne Cambell designed 20ft cat, built in foam sandwich aramat (kevlar) by Shakespear. As far as i know, she is the only boat of this design ever to have been built in anything other than wood.
I haven't had the GPS on her with the new motor, but she passes my friend's P20 doing 74mph with ease. I'd guess top end is high 70's.

I bought her last year and have spent quite a bit bringing her up to my standards... She started off with some worryingly flexible fibreglass seats and an xr2 on the back.

Thanks to dodgydan the xr2 blew up half way to sark on my first outing

This was replaced with a 1999 200 2.5 powerhead from burty, which has been faultless.

Next to go was the drivers seat, this snapped in half during a rather rough outing. I've now fitted a set of brand new cobra seats factory trimmed in blue vinyl.

To compliment these, i've also fitted a stainless marine lifter, a remote water pickup, 150 litre tank and repainted the interior with white non-slip, with a blue 'fleck' over the top to add a bit of colour

She comes with a custom built twin axle trailer in perfect condition with recently recon'd bearings. I towed her half way down the UK with no problems at all!

All in all, it's a ready to go package. She grabs an incredible amount of attention everywhere she goes and is a pleasure to drive, she'll make mincemeat out of almost any monohull

Handles the rough suprisingly well, i did a round trip to Jersey and back in a force 6 the other weekend, wasn't comfy, but she managed!

As you can see i'm in guernsey... She's just come from the UK so there's no VAT to worry about, she could be collected from poole, weymouth or portsmouth, or i'm happy to negotiate delivery with any serious parties.

I'm looking for £5000 or nearest seeing as i'd like a quick sale, i feel this is a really low price!

Just found out the hull would be eligable to run in the 3B class next year, so would be prepared to split if someone is interested, she'd definately be competitive!!
Don't forget i'll consider offers, need to fund new project!

Had to work late today so will get some more pics tomorrow

So James do you have any idea what she weighs ? 3B in her would be quite an interesting prospect ?! Only sat chewing the cud with Mr Fuller and Mr Davies on the dock at Cowes over the weekend and agreeing that 3B would be great in a low profile way next year.

Figured that it may be a good incentive to loose rather a lot of weight and get a bit fitter over the Winter, just to keep me looking as young as you !

As we suggested I think that the clas weights should be revised to include crew, a bit like I understand they do with Karting ...

With Kart racing you lift the kart on the scales and then you hop on as well - if you watch formula one they weigh the drivers before the podium.

Yes it was and it raced the 1.3L Worlds at Allhallows in 1993. Originally built and raced by Stuart and Francis Witney who own Shakesphere and were racing Fugitive in the RB08 and CTC.

Not sure what she weighs, but as she was built for 1.3 originally i'd imagine she's pretty light... I could try to have her weighed somehow if someone is interested enough?

Would be great to see her racing again, she seems perfect for the cause

Well thank you for noticing!

As I type, Ian is now at 37k feet on his way back to Miami, however, maybe a return to competitive racing by Team Woodpower, (obviously suzi will need to be nav! and you can again 'promise her a win') could just draw 'the Cutter' back so you can snap at his heels like the old days.

Right then... looks like the hull's sold unless someone wants to offer me full asking price in the next 12 hours!

That leaves just the outboard for sale...

The powerhead is a 1999 2.5 200, very low hours (around 40 i believe) with the exhaust chest ported.
Leg is standard length from a mid 90's xr2, cowling is xr2 as well, i like confusing people!
It has a new impeller, water pump housing, spark plugs, heads and headgaskets from when i built it, along with nice blue hoses for the water outlets.

Pulls like a train and smokes my friend's 200 opti!

Open to offers, let's say around £2500?
