Loss of Slip way in Portsmouth

In the Portsmouth news yesterday Portsmouth Council has decided to take away the boat trailer park at Camber docks as they say more car parking spaces are needed (MORE REVENUE). They are now saying if you are a slip way user stay away there is no space for trailers, They are taking away the only decent public slip way in portsmouth, A sea fairing city, If you know anyone who uses this slip way please surport me as I intend to start a pertition to save a well used pleasure facility, This slip way is used by both locals and non locals and is a much needed facility throughout the summer.and has been for the past 40 years

Hi there

We are a regular user of this slip way and hearing this news has really pissed me off.
So what's the story at present, can we still use the slipway and park trailer?
I am 100% behind you.

I have spoken to ken Brown boats and they have told me that the final decision will be made in the middle of June, They said that the slipway can still be used but their will be no trailer parking facilitys, However if you read the article in the Portsmouth News, and the fact that It is also has a lot to do with the Ben Ainsley development I think it has already been decided, the trailer park area is needed for extra car parking spaces, I intend to go to the news with a pertition but need to get as many slipway users behind it, We pay for the use of the slipway and there for should have a designated parking area for our trailers, Please add any comments or support to this post and I will present to the Portsmouth News.
