Marshan's on Ebay
Does anybody know anything about the history of the 2 19ft Marshan's currently on Ebay ? Both appear to be identicle in spec 19ft with a circa late 80's/early 90's XR2. I am interested in either but finding it difficult to make a decission on which to go for. Shockwave has now reached its minimum whereas the other has not.
Has anyone anyone any divine wisdom to offer as i know about phantoms but not much about Marshans.
Thanks
Woody

The 16' Marshan, I think was the best boat Terry and Colin ever designed - it was totally forgiving in all respects. I ski raced two, one with a Merc 90 and the other with a Johnson 140 and you could do anything in them. The 162 was the later model with the wider rear cockpit. The 21 drove and felt much like a bigger and heavier 16 but having said that I considered the 19 to be very disappointing in comparison. I very nearly bought one but at the last minute decided on a Ring 18 and never regretted my decision.

i was once told by a creditable member on this site that a well set up marshan 21 is easily as good as a phantom 21.

Actually, I think the person in question (If my assumption is right) hasn't owned a boat for nearly 20 years!

I know how well Motivation goes because I once raced it in appalling conditions in Penarth. It was then called "South Godstone Sportsboats" and had the Merc. well worked by Neil Holmes.
