fancy a run tomorrow then roofer, oh no, it's in bits again innit
when it's next 'running' bring it out and we'll go find some big waves to play in, and you can inhale some smoke (and salt water)

Post fell short of my usual witty self.
Was "merely" gonna ask how many years of fettling it took to solve the cooling problem. Or the manifold cracking problem. Or the strainer problem.
But that would have been cheeky.
Do what I do - take the fkkr apart, lose half the bits, leave it that way, and move on to a proper hobby - like gardening and bbq's. Much cheaper.

True enough, but there aint never been any unexpected holes appear in the blocks! and I've never needed a tow.
and I've covered 3000 (smokey, slow, noisy) miles

what are you on about nobby?
My main concern was that the motor has not been run for at least 2 years, i know feck all about em really so i thought, i'll get someone who knows what they are doing to check it out....... i want to fit an alien hood for asthetic reasons so that means i have to have the electrics changed or the cowl wont fit.
It turns out that my block is a "saltwater" having previously been a 25" motah, aparently the saltwater block is the same as the 260!
Anyway...... the bottom piston has some salt crustacian so the heads are comin off and the bottom bore is gonna be honed out, if i were to have run it like it was i would probably have fooked it!
while the powerhead is off i have had the exhaust outlets opened up to match up top the offshore mid. the only other "MOD" is a 16amp stator......
Hand grenade ..........i think not!
