Mercury 200 hp V6 FOR SALE Offshore mid

I am selling a 200HP V6 Mercury Outboard Engine only, with Controls and cables.

-With an Alien Cowling,
-Offshore middle leg with direct flow exhaust,
-Offshore trim/tilt ram with remote trim pump,
-Aluminium propeller marked 21M

I am told this is 1998 however there are no markings to confirm this. The starter motor is marked Nov 1997 so if original starter motor would indicate this is correct.

This engine came on a 5.5m RIB that I have recently purchased, I bought it for the boat and trailer only since this engine is overpowered for the boat.

It has therefore been removed from the boat for a 90HP fitted in its place, so other than running it up a few times I have not used it and have to say I do not know much about it or engines of this spec and size.

The engine always fires straight up, even when I first viewed it and it hadn't been run for a few months. It pumps water well, and seems to run correctly.
It is pretty loud, I did think it sounded a bit lumpy at idle when first started. I put this down to being a big V6 and the direct flow exhaust, but also the fuel in the boat is apparently at least 8 months old - I would suggest it needs a good run on some new fuel.

The sheathing on one of the hydraulic hoses for the remote trim pump is brittle and detaching, the steel reinforcement under is intact.

The SeaStar steering shaft that goes through the pivot bracket is currently still attached as I can't get it out - Fine if you are fitting SeaStar steering. It does not come with the rest of the steering system.

Since it is no longer fitted to a boat it is not connected to power, fuel or the trim pump, therefore it cannot be run.
The engine is in Lymington.

Let me know if you would like to view or have any questions.

Looking to get £1700 or close to.

I believe it is XR2 yes, based on it being an unpainted 'green' power head. However I cannot say for certain, I'm told it is not easy to see the difference between 2.0 and 2.5 L.
Sorry to be vague, the person I bought the boat from knew less than me, one of the engineers where I work races powerboats and filled me in on what I do now know.
If you would like any more specific photos that may help please let me know.

Thanks.

The steering support rod for the Seastar steering is now out of the bracket, it came out quite easily when tried. It does not come with the engine.
Thanks.
