OMC V8 4.0L electricals
Hey there,
does anyone have the full electrical systems, starter, flywheel etc etc (looking for everything attached to the engine, except the block itself) for a V8 4l?
If someone even has a spare (broken) powerhead with al these things attached.. you are more than welcome to reply!
Thanks,
regards,
sam

I have a couple of OMC 260hp (1982) V8's which are complete but have not been used for about twelve years!! They are still in the boat complete with drives and are in the Hindhead Surrey Area. If you think they would be of interest to you let me know.

David (I assume it's David) I think the reference was to the OMC V8 outboards, not the stern drives.
jf
...MMMmmnn, mebbe not David! I assume then, your HTM is shared with David G-S.

Your assumptions are correct. As i have loads of time on my hands I'm David's side kick if you like and use the boat when he is busy doing other things like working! The HTM is up for sale if anyones interested. Will post it on this site later.

Ignore that question, Chris's boat was a Commanche

Not this particular one, there were only two 27ft Riamars imported into the UK both in 1984. I bought one (yellow/white) and raced it in 1986 with twin OMC Sea Drives on the back - see attached. Very quick. Sold it to Bob Horward who fitted twin 225 Johnsons and did the Cowes Torquey-Cowes and came in 3rd i think or maybe 4th as that was the year that Steve Curtis ran up the rocks in Torquey - very foggy. The other I co drove in 1985 (blue/white) which has twin OMC 260's inboards. We blew a drive leg off Margate on the Putney-Ramsgate-Putney run. It was then sold to a mate of mine and now it's my current, very much part time, project. The Riamars were just great looking boats.

Feckin ell! I really am losing it! Ignore my 'please ignore' post, that is the model Chris had
He put a pair of new Mercs on it, that Howard Wrethan supplied.
Bob Horwood named his Flipper 'Commanche' too didn't he.

How long have you got? the story goes deeper, I bought the Flipper with the lid on with twin 200hp OMC Sea Drives from John Baker. after I had sold the Riamar, that was the first boat he ever raced, and then named the Flipper Commanche as I had with the Riamar. Then after a couple of years Bob sold the Riamar on, probably to your friend, and bought the Flipper from me, still named Commanche and put a big diesel in it via Mike @ South Coast Marine. All very incestuous. I doubt that any of the above makes any sense and is probably boring the pants off everyone but it all happened.
