Optimax engined Bladerunner

Bladerunner

Looks like a nice boat, with more conventional leisure engines, seems cheap too, in comparison to other 'runners. Not sure if 70mph is accurate though, as tricky was struggling to get 80mph with twin 300's.

I would guess they would hit 65mph MAX/

Yip - there is a reason why they are all basement priced! They are reaching their level of true value. There is no way they are £160k boats. Their correct price should be £90k new and £55k for a 6 year old version.

Did you notice all the blades for sale have under 70 hours - even 4 year old ones? There is a simple reason - For the most part those who can afford to buy them will not know how to drive them! Unless you are a racer - they are a crap boat to drive if you go fast. If you hit wash or even normal waves at 45 degrees to your travel the boat nose-dives and tries to rollover. Scary shit!

You have to be alert, and anticipate the waves. - Not something that people who wanted a fast pleasureboat will do.

It is no secret that the raceboat has rolled over a few times when it was doing nothing spectacular.

However, for their current price, they are loverly boats! But you gotta be careful out there!

So the guy spends a fortune, buys a boat, races about looking cool as hell, and smacks a wave in the 'wrong' way and scares himself. Perhaps he does it again, a few days/weeks later. Then thats it. The boat is a scary thing - the family dont like it - he feels he cant control it, and it goes onto sale.

There are two with 300's on sale that have been on hard for 2 years + There are several others that have hardly touched water.

( dont have to worry about osmosis then - except in the sponsons, which are a water trap! - If you buy one fit bungs. They are a missing 'feature' )

The photo looks like Windymeer, but it can't have been out that much cos I've never seen it on the water.

A bit distictive for up there now though, it would outrun the warden but when they found you you'd never be able to say they'd made a mistake and it was someone else!

Funny you should say that I did wounder if the character of the 34 blade were in any way simular to the little one we had years ago, which was just as you described, being small it was a right handfull in any kinda sea. Although I had guest there were a few handling probs, as I was down Chris Lewis's when the Blade was run years and years back and rolled over and I remember all the coments made, pity really it's a right stunner and looks great racing, perhaps Mr Verytricky is the man to sort out it's handling folly's for racing

When the Sony boat was shown last year one of the first things that came to mind was those side water wings and the anti stuff nose are just what a Blade needs!!!!!

I was planning dramatic surgery to make the Bladerunner seaworthy... Perhaps a pair of condoms glued to the hull are just what it needs..

yes get that blade up and running again, perhaps a tube mod may give just that bit extra stability, it would be great to see a blade racing again as they look so dramatic, and like other people I will keep my fingers crossed for some kind of compensation for your stolen outboards
