"You wanna stop advertising that illegal copy as a Phantom!
It wasn't made by Phantom boats, so it isn't a Phantom, just a cheap fake.
Fkkn fraud!!"
reply:
Hello john fuller, thanks for being so nice telling me that it isn,t a
phantom,in fact this one is even better, its a full length 5 stringer made
from vinylesther and E glass with 7 bulkheads,it doesn,t crack at the
transom like a ,,real,,phantom .I use it in heavy seas with 6 ft and up
swells and it did,t even have a gelcoat crack,so what the fkk do you mean
with ,,cheap,,I paid for this boat andI like it and I do whatever I want
with it . Fkkkkkn Praud.Come on over bring some money and I sell you that
boat.

Maybe, but the builder didn't pay for the excellent design, did he?
As for it being better than a real Phantom....Yawn Yawn, everyone with a cheap, counterfiet 'Rolex' is under the same impression!
FYI, Steve Baker (Phantom) experimented with the 'wonder product' Vinylester, many years ago and found it to be better on paper, but in practice, a failure is more likely to be 'catastrophic', so you can keep it. And we're not talking about lolloping about like you most likely do in your 'fake', we're talking about OCR racing at a world championship level, in boats that have to be built to very low weight to be competitive, and as REAL Phantoms have won the OCR title for something like the last 11 years on the trot, someone doesn't know what they're talking about, and it aint me, or Steve Baker,
Your boat is not a Phantom, if it's better than a Phantom as you appear to think, advertise it as what it is! (Raffshore??), but stop lowering the good name of Phantom boats in an effort to sell your fake.
Thank you.
I think it's safe to say it's a copy, especially if it's 2004 as claimed!

It does actually look quite nice, but it pisses me off when someone wants to sell a splash as a genuine Phantom, but when challenged, says 'Actually, it's better than a real Phantom'.
I hope the fkkr sinks!

Any idea what your boat weighs hull only?
We have a design down here called a Steadecraft Shadow that looks a lot like your boat.
A friend of mine has one powered by twin 225 Promax's.

Kiwi,
Not sure to be honest, it's a sterndrive version remember, so has the engine bearers and associated stuff, and is Balsa core 'all over', has all the structures in for the cabin, and cockpit seating, so no that light.
I would take a guess that the bare boat weight was around 1000 kilos, certainly approaching that anyway. all-up weight with interior, tanks, batteries, pig iron (engines) drives etc, etc, etc, is a tad over 3000 kilos.
can you get a pic of a 'Steadecraft Shadow' and post it, would be very interested to see it!

I'm not really slagging the boat off, after all it has excellent parentage!
It's just all these fkkn splashers, that aren't just content with nicking the design, they wanna sell their fake using the good name of the person they stole it from in the first place!
If they'd advertised it as a Raffshore P28 copy, it'd be anoying, but I feel this is taking the piss, and is moraly wrong.
