Phantom 16/Yamaha 90 Race boat

Hull
Steve Baker built in July 1993, HIN no. 010G, medium weight grp hull
with aramat deck. Crane lifting eyes, centre deck rail, race transom,
grp screen. Open deck design, which is currently set up side by side,
but can also be run in tandem.
No cracks, splits or repairs, genuinely very good condition. Series of
rivet holes on the inside of the coaming, which have been covered in
with white vinyl.
Rigging
Hynautic hydraulic steering with no play, Sabelt racing seats with
detachable padding and aluminium adjustable mounts, heavy duty
battery and separate cut out switch, mechanical trim indicator, joy
stick trim switch on dashboard, 8000 rpm tacho, Yamaha control box,
60 litre Argon Weld Alloys, baffled fuel tank with no cracks, splits or
repairs. AWA aluminium foot throttle, Plastimo bow flotation bag.
Graytronics intercom unit but without the headsets, which will be
kept with the helmets. Orange flag, wooden oars, plastic fuel cans,
tank dipstick, anchor and line.
Engine
Yamaha 90, standard but fitted with new solid race mounts and the
oil injection system has been removed. 21” stainless 3 blade Yamaha
race prop, tuned by Barsch Engineering, which delivers 5,850 rpm in
neutral trim.
Trailer
Heavy Duty, galvanised, single axle, unbraked. New bearings and new
tyres, even the spare. New winch and jockey wheel. New carpeted
bunks.
This is a turn‐key race boat, which was restored in 2009 and has won
most of its races since. It qualifies for entry into the World 3B
Championships being held in Torquay in September 2011, subject to
the fitting of nav. lights and a compass and is expected to be very
competitive, especially if its choppy. Can be driven and tested at the
Allhallows Shakedown Race on 17 April, if it hasn’t sold by then.
