Still waiting on this bloody petrol tank! Gav's gonna have someone else make his tanks now so touch wood it wont be too much longer. I wish I knew who the suppliers were so I could drop in and stab them in the face with a rusty screw driver.

I suggested a chat module in a previous thread but I don't think it got a response. If you need a chat it saves going off topic on the main threads, or else use the PM system more

I like the idea of bring your own fuel...... cuts out the test pilots

Discourages test pilots, but if you provide the fuel the prospective buyer wont know what a thirsty beast it is until they get it home. If they turn up with a five litre jerry can, and that lasts ten minutes, unless they are already experienced in this sport I reckon they would be put off.

I remember buying my first high performace boat (motivation) the guy who I bought it from said "£30 worth of fuel will run you around all day!"

The problem was you thought he meant the boat would be running around off the trailer and in the water!

I think the fuel idea is right you can burn a lot of fuel pandering to test pilots. The other thing you could do is charge thirty quid for the test run (refundable against purchase price?)

Ken,

We were chatting by e-mail last night about your phantom. I did not realise you were a member here - by complete concidence i happened to be browsing this morning and saw this thread.

As i said in my e-mail i do not beleive your hull is anything like a 90-96 with a rivited scrreen. More like early 80's.

I also have concerns about the age of the engine, although the serial suggest a '91 the pictures of the powerhead sugget it's also a much earlier v6.

I hope i am wrong, but i would invite opinions from others on here particulary incase one of them is considering buying it.

[edit] Ken's pic's are here. http://www.acboats.co.uk/used_boats_for_sale.htm

Well thats why i've posted on here because you guys know more about boats than me. I always thought the rivited screens were stopped in the mid 80's. Prehaps they went back to them?

What makes you think the power head is so older? power head and carbs etc look the same as most.

I thought the rivvited screen was abolished years ago? phantom or who have the moulds now may still have that top deck mould.
