Phantom 21 (MkII) Trailer and 150 Mercury Project For Sale

I’ve been deliberating posting this ad for a couple of days but now have finally reached a decision and as per the title I have a MkII Phantom 21 package (project for sale)

£3150 ONO

The details as follows:

Original 21 Phantom HIN # 860401
Early 150 V6 Mercury Spares or Repair - (runs but suspected stator issue)
4 wheel trailer

Equipment included:

Ultraflex hydraulic steering complete with wheel
Steering needs through tube rod everything else is complete (temporary rigged with HT threaded rod)
Two fuel tanks (not fitted) with Wema gauges
Aluminium foot throttle (large welded type with bungee)
Instruments fitted not connected -Tacho, Speedo, Temp, Water pressure
Compass
Fire Extinguisher
Manual bilge pump
Electric bilge pump (fitted not connected)
2 X Forward bucket seats
Full set upholstery inc side benches
Bow ballast tank fitted with pick up and empty controls (cable & valves need checking freeing off)
Bow and ski eyes fitted

The floor is mostly sound but there are a couple of soft spots in the battery area

The pictures are to show its genuine condition. I haven’t washed it as the reveal will be someone else’s fun. Some on here will now this boat and where it’s lived for the last few years and some will remember rigging it from new.

I imagine that several P21 owners will have experienced similar but even at this age and in the unwashed condition I couldn’t help but smile with the amount of attention that ‘Phungus’ (our stable name) got just on a little trip down the river for fish and chips. People coming over with ‘wow how fast mate?’ ‘Don’t see many of them now’ Not forgetting a few choice comments about the environment as the 150 sat chuffing away choking seagulls probably at 40:1 ish!

The motor and steering can be split and sold separately if this is useful to anyone.

150 Mercury for spares or repair (NO PROP), controls, instruments and Ultraflex steering, including hoses and steering wheel - £1000

It’s with a degree of reluctance I’m posting this as It’s a project I’ve been looking forward to but due to family health sadly Phungus may have to take one for the team

Thanks for looking and please PM me for further information / questions.Click image for larger version

Edit
Due to broadband speed posting images is proving difficult so please pm me for information and images if needed. I will continue to try and upload a few more pictures over the coming days. Thank you

Hi Alex,

Wow just over 7 years ago I delivered the Ring to the lorry for shipping. Where's the time gone!

Thank you very much for the kind comment. I hope that you're well. Do you still have the 21? . There's a thread here for Ring images perhaps you could post a couple of your 21. It looked really good after you repowered it.

All the best,

Hello Carl,

Thank you for the message / interest in the 21.

I'm not planning to sell the hull separately. I'll sell the rig complete or the engine for spares or repair and keep the hull in the storage.

I like the hull and I'm happy to keep it but at present circumstances mean that this and other projects are on hold for the foreseeable future.

All the best,

Thanks and that's not normally a problem but at the moment (with everything on hold) I haven't completed the workshop/storage to put motors and sundry equipment so I'm trying to keep it as a mobile rig.

I figured the motor might make a donor engine for someone. Running powerhead, lower unit etc.

I'm open to (sensible )offers on the motor and rig complete.

Cheers,

Dear Squirrel,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the MK II Phantom 21.

As the ad states this is an original boat not a copy.

Original 21 Phantom HIN # 860401

If you follow the link below it will explain HIN (Hull #s)
http://www.boatmad.com/forum/f5/phan...tion-4015.html

MK II is the later hull with the original style deck (separate screen)
For my project I wanted a slightly retro look and this worked well.

There are a couple of MK III 21s currently for sale on the forum with the one piece deck, wind deflector and dash if this is the model you prefer.

If you have a search around Boatmad and you will find a wealth of history about the Phantom range and the model changes over the years including lots of pictures.

I hope that this helps.

Put me on the spot!

Hi Carl,

Wow, put me on the spot here...

Yes it is available. Price £2500 ono

Lifting off the transom capping plate the port side top of transom has a soft spot. I suspect where debris collected and held damp over the years as under the rest of the transom capping it appears pretty solid and dry. Again, for my purposes a refit was on the cards so sorting out / up-rating the transom for a heavier motor was part of the plan.

Hope this helps and revised spec below.

Kind regards,

CRB

Included with the package less the motor:

Original 21 Phantom HIN # 860401
4 wheel trailer

Equipment included:

Ultraflex hydraulic steering complete with wheel
Steering needs through tube rod everything else is complete
Two fuel tanks (not fitted) with Wema gauges
Aluminium foot throttle (large welded type with bungee)
Compass
Fire Extinguisher
Manual bilge pump
Electric bilge pump (fitted not connected)
2 X Forward bucket seats
Full set upholstery inc side benches
Bow ballast tank fitted with pick up and empty controls (cable & valves need checking freeing off)
Bow and ski eyes fitted

I'd be interested in the hull but not the trailer if anyone wants to do a deal on the trailer or if you'd split the hull and trailer???

Hello Dan,

Thank you for your message above and via text. Ideally I'd prefer to sell the hull and trailer as one if possible.

To split the hull from the trailer and sell it with the items listed below would be possible and the price would be £2000 ovno

Original 21 Phantom HIN # 860401

Equipment included:

Ultraflex hydraulic steering complete with wheel
Steering needs through tube rod everything else is complete
Two fuel tanks (not fitted) with Wema gauges
Aluminium foot throttle (large welded type with bungee)
Compass
Fire Extinguisher
Manual bilge pump
Electric bilge pump (fitted not connected)

Bow ballast tank fitted with pick up and empty controls (cable & valves need checking freeing off)
Bow and ski eyes fitted

Your avatar says you're based in Plymouth so quite close. You are welcome to come and see the 21 in it's original condition if this helps.

Kind regards,

CRB

Hi Patrik,

Thank you for your note regarding our 21.
Update - At the moment we are keeping the 21.
As the original post stated - due to family health we have had to put several plans on hold including those for the Phantom.
If this situation changes I will re-advertise with a new thread.

I believe that currently there are a couple of 21s available on the forum and good luck with your search.

Kind regards,

CRB
