Later - I guess - were there hull mods between the two versions? like the 21 had??

Also later prefferably if it means better condition, but would be open to look at anything

The two 23's are completely different boats.
The early one had a very fine bow, and pretty sure was available as a race deck. Steve stopped making them in the end because customers kept stuffing them, they required 100% commitment to drive well.

The later hull has a much blunter bow, and (I think) was a stretch of the 21. Might be wrong here though - I'm not the phantom exper here by any means.

There's a yellow 23 twin rig that keeps popping up on ebay.

Matt, many thanks for the info

Either one sounds good - infact I like the sound of the 1st one.

If anyone else has anymore info on the 23's - race deck or not etc...would really appreciate the knowledge

and if someone knows of one, or knows a bloke who's knows a bloke who might know of one etc, etc...that would be real helpful - I've got a feeling that these couldl be pretty hard boats to track down

My 21 is supposed to be very heavy, but thats coz I told them i didnt want a light boat......& things got a bit carried away.

Trios would probably build whatever yopu specified.

I think the later 23 is awexome

There never was a race deck 'late style' 23.

Only the old 'be commited, or stuff' version, that haven't been made since about 1980. very different indeed to the one produced from about '95.

am sure that Chris Lewis used to "look" after this boat. Used to see it in his gaff a few years ago (4/5ish?)

That boat has been on B&O's for years.

I think 18months ago it started out @ £25,000 and has now found its way to sub £10k on ebay!

Just a thought, penton hook had a black twin 23'Phantom Menace' for donkeys. had some fandangled twinspark yammies. maybe worth a look!

Also, hows about a Nice 25?

Oh, and have you tried our friends at russel powerboats? they had a 23 some while ago..white yella & blue with a 2.5efi
