Phantom 25
would be cool if someone in Guernsey bought this and we could then have a Phantom 25 Series / Championship next year with the 4 other ones that are already here and set to race..

4 others? That'd be amazing if they all raced!
Cruel Intentions, Show Time... are the rest secret projects or known boats? I assumed the white 25 with 200XSs was Cruel Intentions with a different paint scheme?

Add to that Blown Crazy (twin300's) and Obsession (Frank's), both of which will be out soon. Plus the B28 when I get it sorted!

Big Boys
Sounds good Larby.
Looking at the trend of people buying boats to race in Guernsey, the trend seems to be big boats with big powerful engines, perhaps we should look at planning for that for future races in Guernsey with the handycap system etc.
At the mo we in Guernsey talk quite a bit about 'a phantom 16 with a 90 on', of which there are currently none racing, and everyone seems to be buying big boats, maybe we should focus on the big boats more than then the p16 with a 90..

Hi Jacq,
makes sense what you say, keep shorter laps for the smaller boats and bring back the longer laps so the bigger boats can really stretch their legs.
That way the spectators are still catered for and the racers can have their own battles whether it be P25'S Bats or Cats

Well the Handicap system was created so that it doesn't matter what wants to race, everyone can join in and have an equal chance.
The reason there aren't currently smaller boats with us is because in all past years we've run as a big open class and they wouldn't have stood a chance. Since bringing in the Handicap, Tania has bought a 90 rig, I know of two others being built and we've got two english teams running 130 & 150 boats. I'm confident that with time we'll see more and more of these type of boats out there as it's cheap easy racing. We can't just focus the series on the bigger boats and rule everyone else's chances out as before we know it, we'll be back to less than 10 boats to the line.
To the best of my knowledge the RYA won't allow out laps at the moment and they're a nightmare to sort anyway. There's a lot more to it than meets the eye and I'd rather not get into a public discussion about it on here if that's ok. At the end of the day we're running an offshore series with 17 boats due to the next race and over 20 due by the end of the year, so we're obviously doing something right.
The very last thing I want to do it focus purely on hoping people continue to buy bigger rigs as once all the cheap old phantoms are gone, they won't be able to afford it any more.
Rest assured I work bloody hard for more hours a week than most people do at work making sure that the local series is as good as it can be. If we see a way to improve for all, we'll jump on it.
