Nothing to do with boats, but can anybody advise best (secure & economical) way to send a parcel to the states, 9kg box 70cm x 60cm x 60cm, insurance value £1k.

UPS, FedEX, DHL all ship overseas but are usually crazy expensive. Do a search on freight forwarders. You may get it much cheaper, but it also will take much longer.
