Props wanted

Hi Everyone - I am looking for a pair of props for our Arnesons - I reckon we need to start of with a pair of 24" ones - the thing is they need to be 19 spline jobies - the shaft is 4" from the fat end of the taper to the end of the spline - it seems that this spline is quite an old one - if anyone has some 26" props they we would also be interested in those. New shafts would require a lot of stuff being changed and I want to avoid that if possible! I'll take whatever diameter you have at this stage!

If I can find a few different props we'll start to look into what should work best - until then anything that will fit is a bonus.

Thanks guys!

Might be worth getting one of those adaptors from Arnesons:

Arneson now makes an adapter kit to mate a Mercury #6 Speedmaster Propeller to an ASD6 or ASD8 19-tooth Spline shaft. Thus increasing propeller selection.

That must be for the longer shaft - mine only measure 4" from the thick part of the taper to the end of the spline - I wonder if you could shorten the adapter? I'll ask Arneson!

Meanwhile anyone got anything?

Thanks!

Sadly the adapter doesn't fit - it seems I have the 1721 drive which is basically an early number 6 drive with some subtle differences and sadly a different drive shaft!

Adapters

Might be worth getting some adapters made to widen your selection ,there as guy in redruth with a spark eroding machine and he altered a merc adjustable pitch prop to fit my old aq 270 drive it was a perfect fit and only cost me 60 quid

If you can get the spline details and do a sketch I could model and wire edm an adapter for you.

Thank you guys - I have a pair of 25's on the way now - I'll look at getting some drawings done - anyone know what would work best to adapt too and do they have drawings for them?
