[QUOTE
I only posted a "For Sale" concerning manuals - why has this become personal?[/QUOTE]
Perhaps some of the chaps on this forum have old fashioned views? (including my best gay mate).

I bet for the £40 you want for the manuals you wish you hadnt stated this thread.
You seem to be very popular.

Tim B-C et al
Your open criticisms and unsubstantiated allegations levelled at the RYA and their volunteer officials on an international public forum have probably had a more damaging affect on the Sport of Offshore Powerboat Racing than anything else.

I sincerely hope this is not the case for two reasons.
1.) Honesty is a waste of time
and
2.) Crime does pay.........................
What a sad and sorry state to be in.....................

Gentleman & Ladies.
Having only just had this thread brought to my attention I thought that I would just make a small statement regarding the RB08 and to correct some statements made here that are incorrect.
Point One. I would like to make it quite clear that we, the organisers, are not paying for the RYA Commissioner/s accommodation, food, transport or anything else, the RYA are.
Point Two. The RYA now fully understands that the RB08 is quite different to the normal “race around the cans” and is an Endurance race of enormous proportions. We might indeed be faced with conditions that under normal circumstances could cause the race to be cancelled. We have been assured that the OOD, the Safety Officer, the Race Chairman and myself, in conjunction with the RYA Commissioner/s would make the final decision as to whether the leg in question should be run as a race leg or not. This decision will bear in mind the safety of the race teams. Whatever happens, the fleet must get to the next Venue by whatever means and if necessary, in the event of fog, they will run slowly behind those craft with Radar as a non racing leg or in extreme weather conditions simply complete the leg at a non racing speed providing the race teams are happy with that.
Point Three: I have to say that the RYA and in particular John Puddifoot and his staff are now 100% on our side. Of course we have had our differences but they have now been resolved. The RYA have helped us in many ways with Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Statements, as well as a whole host of other support. Over the last few months the RYA have been of considerable help to us and as far as we the Organisers are concerned that’s all that matters. This race is important to the competitors and to the future of the sport as a whole and is far bigger than any one person. I have to say, without the support of the RYA we would have been struggling to get this race to the start line.
ML.
