ok so im very confused (happens alot)

so here are some pics of my drives.

i believe them to be alpha one gen 1 as there are no brass fittings for a resivoir inside the boat. am i correct?

im having difficulties finding a gen 1 LH box but gen 2 are avaliable in LH rotation
will a gen 2 work on my gen 1? (if mine even is a gen 1)??

the drives were from the merc 5.7 260's that were origionally in the boat so what gear ratio would that make them?

the only other question I should ask is will having conter rotating boxes benifit me on handeling/performance over 2 RH boxes?

Yes those are gen 1 drives. Gen 2 drives won't fit as the width of the drive where they 'meet' inside the gimbal ring is different as well as different geometry of the trim rams. As far as handling is concerned you are much better off with counter rotation so keep searching - maybe consider one of the reman types that the USA produce I used to see advertised?

Cheers

Moose.
