Wanted P20 or P21 or similar

Hi Guys - It's my 1st post!

I'm looking for a 'project' Phantom 21 or similar on a trialer. Anything considered but trailer must be good to travel. I would prefer hull and trailer only as I already have an engine.

Thanks in advance.

Talking P21

On my way back to IoM with a 1982 Phantom 21. It has been stripped and painted quite well in 2 pack white. I have a 1997 merc long shaft ready to fit. The plan initially is to rig it rough and ready and see what it does on the choppy irish sea! Next purchase is seats and a prop.....any suggestions? This is my first attempt at anything this fast, old and racey so any and all help greatly appreciated. I'll post photos tomorrow when i'm able.

I appreciate your comment but isn't there a lot to be said for a nicely built 2 smoke; lightness, the noise it makes, handling?

This guy did a nice job of an imboard though

http://boatmad.com/forum/showthread....hlight=phantom

Is that something like you were thinking of?

Hi Bor, very impressed by your installation, not many people have the skill and determination to undertake such a project. Inspirational.

In my opinion yours doesn't really compare to what most people think of when they convert to inboard, ie usually a standard GM 5.7/alpha 1

Next time I find myself in the Nederlands I'll give you a shout

Your right about the project ,I wouldn't do it again to be honest but if you say A you have to say B and the only thing to do it is to do it right ,especially if you planning to go this fast !

however if you have a nice original p20 or 21 I think it would run pretty nice whit a 5.7 and alpha or bravo ,my first thoughts where to put in a 6.2 mpi whit bravo but then I came along someone who builds the alluminium ls engines for a living and it got a little out of hands .

but very happy whit the results so far ,have a few points I want to chance but nothing mayor .

Yours looking good also ! what s the plan to but on ?
I reed some other post from you and will give you the advice to go whit the hydraulic steering ! I had a 2.5 on a 20 warrior (ring splash ) and it wasn t steerable WOT !due to the prop tq .

I already had a standard merc 200 which is the reason for buying the P21. This is my first go at a boat of this type so I'm keeping it simple, make my mistakes on this one and then decide if I want to do something more interesting.

Any advice very gratefully received, thanks
