No, the 8m is based on the B23/V24 as mentioned, where as the 9m is based on the B28, this is a bigger boat all round, as a batboat, the 28 is run as twin OB, or Single stern drive (7.4 litre and up)...

8m wasn't good in a big following sea, but fab everywhere else, 9m is superb at all times.
