Optimax no oil getting in engine tank

My XS wouldn't bleed through for some reason...
My XS wouldn't bleed through for some reason using the Merc electronic priming system so I disconnected the pipe off the engine block (engine off) and stuck a bike pump on it.
Opened the bleed...
