Actually GB did have a bid in on time with venue and funding, so they still gaive it to Italy who were late with their bid.

Go figure.

It's only a shame because GB had a bid in as well and Italy was'nt even an official reserve when Cape Town cancelled. The 2 reserves were GB and Sweden. Sweden did'nt bother cos they have it next...
