Well our XR2 (5of)experience with 2 litre blocks...
Well our XR2 (5of)experience with 2 litre blocks shows it's vital to have the best spark at the engine and you won't get that with an old battery and HT leads.
Remember you wont see 500 more rpm but...

NGK silicone leads your local merc dealer will have them.XR2 standard and they include boots .
It's amazing how much difference even a new heavy duty battery can make with those nice marine...
