IMO it is mostly, if not all, hull, drives and propellors. Staggered engines very very little. - Just my opinion....

OK, - Simple answer is I dont know, I have just experianced two very similar boats and the only known differance to account for their different characteristics was a lightened and balanced flywheel....

A big heavy prop shaft will not reduce Hp by much, but it will change the acceleration properties of the boat due to the extra inertia contained in the bigger propshaft, so on-off acceleration action...
