We had Morse controls on one of our 26 Velocities. Very smooth and easy. Some greasing or new cables might be in order. Only other thing I can think of is that the cables might be at an acute angle...

Nice boat Admiral.

Have you considered turning your throttles around so they angle forward rather than aft. Not sure about your Morse controls but it can be done with Kiekhaefer.
