Visited the boat today cleaned up the oil pickup...

Visited the boat today cleaned up the oil pickup filter loads of jelly type stuff on it run engine still not pumping took pipe off tank was oil there but very slow dribble so then took hose off...

If that valve has gone would there still be pressure in the main (big) oil tank? Because when I undo the big cap on the tank it feels like I'm releasing a fair bit of pressure

Optimax no oil getting in engine tank

What would stop the oil pumping to the oil tank on the engine
I have checked there is pressure in the big tank
Engine has just been fitted (2006) 250xs
Have tryed undoing top tap on engine tank...
