Yamaha 60hp 2 cylinder
Yamaha 60hp short shaft. 2 cylinder. £500. Kingsbridge, Devon.
Awesome little engine.
Just been rebuilt and the Head skimmed.
has brand new mount castings and top mount bolts.
Has a stainless tuner Exhaust.
this is really for racing but could still be used for a fishing boat or dory.
it is an ugly beast but you can paint it (also have a spare cowling. current one is a 55 cowling) or get a cowling off ebay.
Just need a quick sale as taking up space.
Was on my T750 race boat but have upgrade to T850 (70hp).
Electric start.
Manual trim (has become very stiff, could do with the tilt tube removed and regeasing up) I do have rams that can be purchased separately that can make this power trim and tilt but will need a lot of work and machining.
It will come with control box.
Has a Yamaha digital LCD gauge with it.
Just had new bushes on the steering tube.
I could go on forever about it. If you have a question just ask.
£500.
Kingsbridge Devon.

Is that really a 60 DE powerhead or the 55b powerhead on that as the 60 de was never made manual start and if it has the 55 manual powerhead it will have different porting and decompression holes in the bores.

Hi Jason,
Your best bet is probably Guy or Scotty.

Yes the 90 bolts straight upto it. The 90 is basically a 3cyl 55/60, the leg casting is identical apart from the 90 has two large exhaust relief holes instead of four small holes on the 55. The mounts are identical too. Driveshaft splines are larger from memory.
15 years ago we couldn't give the things away, if a short shaft they were basically worthless!

Nice one, theres a guy in Aus building a short shaft 90 to go on a thundercat, was thinking of doing the same. Haven't even got my 70ces running yet but pretty sure it won't be fast enough
If a 55/60 short shaft comes up cheap enough I'll get one to build as a project.
I think the 60D came with a 1.71 ratio 'box? Same as the ces, which would be good but even the 1.84 'box from a 55 would do
