Progress...
Got all of the carpet out now... Nearly finished de-rigging the boat, removed the Ali plate from the transome, and started to cut out the old Bulkhead, ready for when we put the new one in . Can't wait to see them Airfronts working together.

How fast do you think it will run with twin 260's ? The Brut P28 had twin Jack bishop motors on and wasn't that quick .

I think it will run close to 80, which is quick enough for a pleasure boat.
Rich.

When you say Brut, do you mean Agitator-Rory Power's boat. As I don't think the Smilin' Jacks were around in the 80's? Rich

Those motors weren't quite what they could have been. I had a ride in it, and one motor pulled 1000rpm less than the other flat out. That's a LOT as the good one would be dragging the bad one along, hiding the difference to some degree. I suspect one was at least 30-50hp less than the other. it ran mid 70's like that.
One was a Bishop motor and the other was copied to match (by I think phil collins for block work), anyways, they weren't really quite the same. What it did do very well as a twin, was run completely pitch stable. the balance was nice. Super soft ride too compared to the inboards. It was a very light boat.
As a triple 2.4 efi (245hp) BRUT ran out of safe handling & cooling on Windermere at 87mph, as the triple layout didn't lend itself to max speed, flat water running in a light mono.

Mine are real Bishop Racing blocks off of Assagai, should be producing around the 325hp each. Me and Geoff Purves will build them up, should be a good setup rig when it's done. See you out there Jon. Rich

Not sure, I had a chat to Geoff and the blocks were sent away for machine work to be done in the States I believe, but definately Bishop blocks (they are scribed). Joe used to look after the boat, and rece prep it. Rich

Not to mention designing and building it from scratch... along with the previous 2 Assagais', ' Hooper & Ashby, Unipart, Westons Kodak, Fat Cat and Hospitality Inns.
Joe is a bit more than just a (excellent) mechanic.
