Phantom 20 total rebuild
As some may know, I bought myself a Phantom 20 this summer.
Number 50B. So quite old!
I had hopes that she would have a good transom cus she havent been running for many years but boy was I wrong.
Started by stripping her down to the bair bones. Just to get a good look of her and how she was feeling.
Gastank in the front, big skipole. Old skiracer?

Tearing her apart...
Then I removed the mega-alubracket of doom, and started the cutting and grinding.
Made a big hole!
That is because I´m going to race her in Sweden in our V-300 class. To do so she has to be 6.3m long and I´m making a solid bracket sort of. Then she counts as a 6.3m long boat!

Rotten, ohh so rotten.
But here I was done with the cutting and grinding for some time. Time to start fabricating!
Fastforward some weeks and woilá! A big box behind my beloved boat

Here we are at the present moment. Making some fiberglass stuff everyday after work. ( got her at my job )
Todays job was to make the transom abit thicker. Glued to 9mm plywood together, gonna glue those to the boat tomorrow. Hopefully will have some floor done this week as well!

lenght question
HI Zander,
just curious, for CE rules if a bracket is bolted, so removable the boat lenght doesn't change for classification, document, insurance.
But when the bracket is not removable, not bolted, and part of the boat, the new lenght of the boat must include the bracket in. So this P20 is almost a P21 now.
No problem for you and insurance in Sweden?
all the best
Bruno

Ohh yes, we do have our problems with em
But some companies are OK and let us insurance our overpowered boats. Dunno about mine if it counts as a 20 or 21 but I will call it 21, belive it´s easier to insurance then.
For racing however, this box is 100% legit according to our national rules. Friend of mine have done the same with his P21. Made it a "P22". Also races in V-300 but with a 225 Sport XS.
All thoughts are appreciated
Ohhh! And by the way. (This one is for everyone at the forum)
I´m looking for a 200XS 20" leg pref. Gen 2 or gen1 does not matter but a Gen 2 is better
Anyone knows of a good one?

Ooops, here is a thread that I forgot about
If anyone still is interested I will keep on updating the thread!
Many hours have been spent in the cold garage, trying to make this old sucker a worthy boat.
Making the special rearend of the boat. Hours and hours of grinding.

Painted the dashboard with black gelcoat and removed the sides, they are heavy!
Also put on gelcoat on the rear. Looks more of a boat now!
More blue layers need to be painted but then I will put on the lid
Racingseason is soon upon us! Gotta hurry!
