Adobe pdf

I'm mulling over a few ideas at the moment, i'm a huge fan of adobe pdf documents for online articles etc, and they seem to pretty much be a global standard these days.
However - what is the downside? Does anyone have any criticisms of pdf's? I'm struggling to think of anything significant, but I'm a bit of a techie anyway, so does anyone have any comments from a non techie perspective.

Matt

PDF

International standard, anyone can read them, look the same on all platforms, low risk security wise.

Can't really think of any downside.
