Firkin Rib Owners.
Why oh why is it that Rib owners believe that speed and wake limits dont apply to them.
Its impossible to have a kip on my boat on the Itchen without some muppet making waves whilst travelling to or from Drivers Wharf.
One particular bloke with Blue toobs and a compliment of Nuckleheads roughed us up nice.
Id have had a good mind to cut off his arms and legs and call him Stumpy, if someone had not already beat me to it.

The Police boat can be a bit reckless on the Itchen as well
I've seen the Drivers Wharf pontoon leap three feet in the air when hit by wash.

Tacuma narrows Suspension Bridge if memory serves.....what really impressed me was the headbangers who were still walking on the wobbly bridge!
I have seen the harbour master chasing a Jetskier at many Knots down the Itchen and the wash was huge.
I think high speed passes of marinas on the Itchen is is not rib specific!
We had to rescue a yacht that was drifting onto Hythe shore so I called it in and got permission to proceed at speed down the Itchen in Billy!
the funny thing was the yacht is in a transatlantic yacht race in three weeks time but two days ago it failed to cross Southampton Water

If you'd gone past my boat on the itchen and stuck it on the bank, permission from the nobs in uniform or not, I'd have been straight round with my Leatherman tool and converted your rib into a very low freeboard hard boat!
