It went very well. I guess ! at the end of the day it was a ribride for 28 miles. following a car with a lifeboat, chase copter and a Jumbo as support vessels.

There were 28 ribs and the call signs ranged from Alpha 1 all the way down to Echo 2 (guess who was Echo 2)

It was really good to drive a boat quickly in waves as opposed to wavelets and we had a high powered crosing of all 28 ribs on the return journey as we were all empty

Only the lovely Cougar rib broke down

Trying my best to be the fastest rib Cooiks

Richard Branson Drove an Aquadia car across the channel an got the record. It was all sponsored by Virgin Atlantic. Apart from all the safety boats and a very plush Sunseeker for his folks there were 28 ribs carrying 200 invited Virgin frequent fliers...to a big Jolly in Calais.

It was all organised by a firm called Watermark events and went quite well. of the 28 charter Ribs there 7 were diesels 4 were yamahas 1 was a Suzuki and all the rest were happymax's

Intersting stuff, innit?

Strange what grabs the attention of a serial record breaker...

("Ooooh, if you wanna be a record breaker, the tallest, the shortest..." - Roy Castle)

It's the sort of thing that anyone could have done, but takes someone like Branson to spot the opportunity and do it with all the publicity.

How about a challenge from Bogi and rowg - they could combine a Trabant with a Camel RIB to break the record!

Anyway, Bogi would have a really cool paint job on the marinised Camel Trabant!

(p'raps get the Camel back to the cabin before rogue noticed it missing as well)

The boy is right

Whilst we're plotting to borrow Rouge Wave's Camel RIB and weld it's exoskeleton onto a hi-tec space frame for Jon Baldur's Trabant (he won't mind will he Bogi?), some nasty Ribeye owners (is it the owners or their Ribeyes that are nasty ?!?) have ganged up on our test-a-RIB-to-destruction hero over on the toob site, forcing his missus to step forward and stop the bullying

It's all happening tonite!
