Old Bailey

Heard on the radio this morning that the Old Bailey had just put cases going back to the 1700's online.

There is a search facility on the site, so I went off and had a look for something a little bit strange and came up trumps.

The case is from the 11th July 1677 and if your easly offended do not follow this link.

As you will see the case starts off with

Quote:
ONe of the first and most talkt of Tryals at this Sessions, was for such an abominable Crime, attended with such odious Circumstances, as 'tis thought scarce any Story can parallel it, especially in this our more modest and chaster Climate, hitherto a stranger to such unnatural wickedness; and we hope the Justice executed on this wretched Criminal will deter all others from any the like detestible inclinations for the future.
It has nothing to do with incorrect overtaking on a turn mark either!

Tried our name and got 8 hits(all in my family tree) ... not sure if it's because all the great, great grandparents were from the Rotherhite area or i'm just from a line of proper criminals .. embezelment.. coining ? .. fraud.. it's all there
