Jon,
it’s indeed gratifying to see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public with your posts regarding our Team in general and me in particular. I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you.

It's certainly not my fault that you feel you're a poor judge of character. But of course I'm very pleased for you that you aparently cherish that poor judgement. Rather quirky I'd say.

Luckily I haven't suffered any misconceptions. My opinions remain unfaltering.

Now back to the lesson, try it with a bit of vibrato.

Jon,
It’s always easy to race in somebody else’s boat with somebody else paying the repair bills, try funding it on your own!

I don't mind your disjointed meanderings so much, as long as you don't mind me not listening.

My own boat (which incidentally cost well over twice the budget you have set for your 'project' and that was 9 years ago) is all mine, and paid for (and not helped by any sponsors), I just don't choose to race it and never have. If I wanted to race it, it would have been rigged as such, which would have been considerably cheaper, probably 15k cheaper, but I wanted a pleasure boat.

If in the past, present, and maybe future, people choose to invite me to work with them on building, rigging, setting up and racing boats, I'm very happy and comfortable in doing so, and frankly I laugh out loud at your pathetic attempt to discredit, and belittle me for not being the primary funder of such projects.
I would also remind you that you have no idea whatsoever about the details and workings of teams, past, or present that I'm involved with nor the amount of input I have given, beit finacial, time, or otherwise.

I would suggest you mind your own business, and go and bang a few more nails in ya dream.

Jon,
I was not referring to your boat as I am aware you don’t race it...

SHUT UP

Build your boat, go and race it, beat a few people and then shout your mouth off about how it is, until then accept that other people may in fact know better. That's life - deal with it.

Where this obsession with beating all those around you has come from I don't know, but you only need to worry about other boats in your class (whatever that is on the day).

I know this probably just a bit of fun for you (again) but whilst entertaining to watch, is not doing anyone any favours, so concentrate on what you are doing and not what everone else is up to.

oh and in case you missed it the first time - SHUT UP!

Rant over.

I think this post is getting un-professional and any outsider to our sport reading it might get the wrong perception of what our sport is all about. Accordingly I will not respond to any further posts on this subject..

Are you his gimp boy or something?

FFS, I've witnessed some sycophantic behaviour in my time, but you take the biscuit.

SO to the vote

1: Pash is a total knobhead

2: Budweiser is Martys gimp

3: Jon is a thorougly decent fella (Despite touches of Ging)

I'll start by voting for all three.

Who's winning?

I suspect many would like / expect / demand a 4th option.

Option 4: Jon is a toal knobhead.

Feel completely free to sit firm on your fence and proclaim all 4 to be utterly true.

I've just noticed James Sydenham looking at this thread and it got me thinking.

The point I've been trying to get accross about it being laughable to revel in the thought of beating a boat from a class well below your own and seeing it as some kind of acheivement, and how one really should be aspiring to beat those above your standing, was shown oh so clearly by the Goldfish mob in Round Britain 08. They were in class RB3, but they took on, and on occasion beat the top class of RB1, not through breakdown, but through outstanding performance. Such performance and acheivement attracts well deserved respect. On the legs where the big boys like Hannes, Andy and Drew won, they weren't celebrating victory over the lower classes!

Never realised the program gave the ability to see who is looking at what thread, thought you could only tell who was logged in, a guy I work with runs his own forum plus moderates for the cable forum but I never asked him about what can and can't be done as computers/programs just make me want to

Goldfish boats were pretty amazing

Jon,

you seem to have missed the point, whilst you may be a toal(sic) knobhead I was only trying to make the vote counting easy so you couldn't be accused of rigging it. Doh.

Anyway you're right I'm firmly on the fence and do indeed agree with all 4

Oh and one other point. This is my poll and my poll only and as such nobody is at liberty to add a fifth option that involves my name
