Question for Matt

Whenever I try to access your website all I get is essentially a gray screen with the Mattyorke.com logo on the right, a smaller darker gray rectangle on the left and not much else.

Could it be my use of a Mac and AOL, a combination of the two, neither or both? What do you think.

Tried to pm you this so as not to bore everyone else but you appear to have a full inbox.

Yeh, probably the mac bit. The left hand side grey bit comes up as a menu, but it uses xml and scripts to build it. Since I'm a lazy bugger, I wrote it in vbscript, your mac probably doesn't like either that or the xml bit. Keep meaning to change it to jscript (which your mac should be happier with), but it's somewhere down the to do list.

Not having a mac though, I'm just assuming that to be the most likely reason.

Jon's swapping the main site over to different servers so both the site and forum are now hosted in the same place.
The forum was still up though - http://www.boatmadforum.co.uk, just the site (www.boatmad.com) was down.

boatmad.com shouldn't have gone down at all during the process, assuming you uploaded the files to the new server before you switched the DNS . . .

This is what I see from my Mac. I'm not on AOL so I would guess it's probably a VBScript thing. ( )

I'll try it in work tomorrow (WinXP) & see if it's any different.

Well, I never envisaged anyone would actually look at my site, I guess I'll have to hack a more generic menu system together.

Check your server logs. I bet the hit count rocketed after the 'Free Porn Here' thing.
