By the way Ian Blacker's boat wasn't running flat out as had problems with water pick-up on one engine. I believe best speed they saw on RTI was 95 mph.

What *I* had heard about JP's record was that the timekeepers were not at the *finish* and he had to go find them, and advised them of his finish time.

And no - I really can not remember who told me that, I wish I did remember so I could ask for confirmation.

Question. Is There a set course for RTI record, or is it any which way you like as long as you get round?

Seriously - if you are going for an 'around the island' record, can you take any route around the island? Including going through the needles as well as passing island side of Nab East and Sturbridge?
