nice,i did my r1 in marlborough colours after coming off at brands on a track day,it had a harris hi level can,and spondon r7 copy rear swinging arm, maxton re-valved front forks and ohlines rear suspension, funny enough i never did get on with it that well compaired to the r6 i had before,i rode the new gixer 750 when it came out back in around 2000 ish and really liked it,seemed to be a mixture of the 2

I agree with Lars...a V twin with straight through pipes has an awesome sound,,,although the best sounding bike i heard was a gixer1000k3 with straight through underseat pipes.....a mate got the pipes from america for £1200...it was a pig to fit & it fell apart after 6 months

MC...i intend to do a trackday at oulton on the 3rd march if the weather is ok...did a couple of parade laps at brands just before world superbike last year...the paddock hill bend is awesome...would love to do a full trackday there.

Done most of the tracks in the uk...my fav is donnington[apart from the nurburgring which i did in 2003]

The marlboro R1 at the top was a 98 import{1st in the uk] which was binned at oulton same year & rebuilt as a marlboro rep...had all the usual top kit put on it but nothing was done to the engine

I loved it while i had it but i fancied another gixer 1000...i wrote my first one off in 2003...only prob with gixer 1000,s is their snatchy clutch....plus every fookers got one!!!

If you think Paddock Hill bend is terrifing on a bike you should try it on a kart approaching it at 130mph!

I used to have an old Honda NS400R - bored to 500cc and numerous other mods. Bit of an acquired taste I know - but I quite liked V3 2 stroke sound - and the triple smoke plumes!
Coulda done with more power though.

I used to have a CBR 400RR in urban street tiger colours which was a lot of fun. Sold it and bought a GSXR 1100 which was a real handful. Oh to be young again!
