I would have thought the recovery team would have done that, to allow the water out as they lifted it clear of the water.
It would weigh quite a bit when full of water! and take a while to drain without a door open low down.

Story goes they didnt it was already open. But its locked fully open Up & Latched not just piddle drain the water out of it, Things they do to nick ya bags
Speed of the recovery was excellent, First class bit of salvage work
