Have a nice time. We are going out with Bubble & Squeak & kids to celebrate Greek Independence Day. (I think it was 25th).
Bubble has promised to wear his tights and cap with tassel so should be a sight to behold in the local...!!!

I know about the smashing plates bit but the Landlord's from oooop north and doesn't tolerate any nonsense.
Whatsoever.
Apart from some real ale drinking and of course a mad Paddy's Night celebration as the Landlady's Irish
(You've met them)

Even making allowances for English not being first language Bogi, I think you are right about doing a check....some of these phrases conjure up very worrying images indeed.

Sometimes it comes wrong out when I am writing and typing Icelandīs phrases raw into English like the chicken walking, it is actualy when you have hurt your foot and you canīt walk normally and you are waddling from one side the other.
That could surely be called English word/sentences fetish

Thank you for your kind words, but still though when I am in rush or tired like now and last night it can come out badly.
I was thinking of going to cinema tonight but Steinunn took our Chrysler for work, Maria Erla and Hjalti are out on the Subaru and Jon Baldur somewhere in his Trabant and the Hummer is out of order waiting for parts from US, so I am stuck at home watching the tele. What are you up to tonight ?

Bogi I put in the word 'waddling' for you as I'm sure that's what you were aiming for.

Talking Bejaysus don't let Chris see that...he'll be very offended!!!

1) Thing is he forgot the 'h' second time around...

2) Many gentlemen use the preferred term 'chinscratching' ...

3) You're a bit norty Willow. Nice to see you've cheered up tho'

Bogi,

Don't put yourself down..... you are pretty amazing... english is not 'your tongue', you are doing really well being able to post on here, and in doing so you are entertaining me too

What are you doing today? Things are quiet here, Chris has gone out he'll be back tonight. I'm just surfing the net and watching TV.
