Cor, that takes me back to my childhood..It's a Unipower GT, built in middlesex in the late 60's. My cousin was going to to buy one for his 18th birthday, and took me on a test drive. Didn't buy it coz he couldn't afford the insurance! He ended up buying a Ginetta G15 instead.

"Former BMC works driver Andrew Hedges and power-boat racer Tim Powell started building their own sports car in 1966, with the help of fork-lift truck makers Universal Power Drives. The new car was sold as the Unipower GT and used Mini Cooper running gear to great effect. Sales of the Unipower GT continued until 1970, around 75 cars were built in total."

I guess you already know this (as it was found with a 2 minute Google search) & the relevent point is the "power-boat racer Tim Powell". I've had a look through my old car books but can't find anything about Unipower other than the odd mention. Wikipedia doesn't mention these two guys either; only the Universal Power Drives thing.

Do I get the points?

No, you lose points cause you discovered it the same way I did so I get no points either. Only took me about a minute though

Here's where I found the info.
