the main race open class is no longer as we have the f3 which is the entry level for ski racing any boat length up too 21 ft with any 150 hp engine, although as many have found the older 150`s are no where quick enough against a 150 optimax !! 20ft phantom 20 years old with new opti 62 mph with skier !!
the idea of the open support is if people want to try ski racing 35 mins at any speed takes some doing its not a walk in the park so any boat length up to 21 ft with max f2 engine 2.5 260 or 280 or xr2 whatever single engine and then try and do 35 mins !!
we are lucky the idea of basic no tuneable engines clean green optis are gaining us entrys we are a little unfortunate at the mo with a couple of the f3 guys out injured but next year will be big as the worlds are in belgium and with 3 f2 places in the uk team up for grabes it will be close !! even f3 guys coming up to f2 to try and get a place !!
and if ever a thing to watch will be the f1,f2,ladies,juniors races in the canals with speeds over 80 mph about a meter from the concrete wall !! if you have not seen ski racing then that will be the place to watch it !!

Ohh well i'll just be watching from the pier then

Pity though

What restrictions on the hull then is there a minimum weight for F3?
Is it driver / watcher/ skier, how many races are flat water?
does the driver watcher have to be side by side?
Or is it driver faces forward and watcher faces backwards the only restrictions just a thought?

no minimum weight but has to be a standard built boat ie fibreglass
depends on weather conditions but it will never be real flat as you have other boat wakes to contend with
have to be side by side

Jon, if you came over to see a Belgian canal race the hospitality section of the Hotshot motor home awaits you , and i would happily take you out on a circuit on practise day, the Belgians really are masters at getting those boats/skiers round the turns tight,we just dont get the time on these waters that they do.
