The black boat, "If Only", is an Ilver built on Lake Como.

No 4 was Pete Carpenters boat, He towed his daughter Nikki with it and she won many European titles. Pete later built an inboard version that was red. The boat was called an Ilva, and im pretty sure Pete moulded them himself.

The red and white boat was the late Ray Bryant's Abbate also from Como. It's been discussed on here before. It was painted many different colours but ended it's racing days black. It's currently on display in a museum.

First saw the Ilver at a Seasalter race and I remember that it was yellow when Alan Symonds brought it over from Italy. He soon sold it to Peter who was the only person to get those 220 Lazers to work. Last I heard it was in a garage near Weston with a V8 Johnson on the back.

Dan, did you buy the boat from Matt Carey, and does it now have a stock v8 chevy bith big shiny exhausts. If so then that is the boat. I think it had Matts company Classy Chasis written on the side the last time i saw it

Danger...

No i did not m8, my boat is called "fast Forward", looks just like the Black #4 boat here... it has a huge v8 factory race spec bowtie tall block Chevy, with the Kinsler fuel injection system, far from standard.. Ross pistons, Manley rods, etc..the boat is mainly silver with some yellow/red, speedmaster 3 leg fitted, Stelling exhausts etc...someone spent a bucket load on the engine as we have stripped it and found out

I will be listing it here soon in the Gallery and all the engine internals and pics of the boat trailer too when she is finished..... but this is all very interesting!
