Torquay
We have managed to secure a joint event with the OCRDA organisation in Torquay from the 28th to the 1st of October. The event incorporates ourselves along with Bat boats, V-4, Ribs and OCR class powerboats.
We anticipate a total of 70 plus boats to compete in the three day event. We will have a Support Race on Saturday afternoon (35mins) with the Main Race on Sunday morning (50mins). However there is racing from Friday onwards. (More details to follow.)
There is provision for campers on Torre Abbey meadows, few hundred metres from the harbour where the boats will be kept ready for launching, which will be available from Thursday the 28th onwards free of charge (NO BARBEQUES permitted). We also have designated car parking available free of charge in the town. Note full overnight security for the pits and campers is provided.
Cranes and slipway will be available for launching, although you will need to bring CERTIFIED strops for the cranes.
There is NO RE-FUELLING of boats in the pits or on the water. There is a fuelling berth on the marina or alternatively you will need to take your boat to the nearest fuelling station.
We are obliged to attend a function in the Imperial Hotel on Saturday night at £10.00 per head (food included). Please give this your/our full support as the organisers are very interested in us accompanying them at future events such as Guernsey and the OCRDA world championships in Torquay next year.
The entry fee will be £50.00 and half price for juniors. I hope to have an information pack put together in due course. However please could you reply via e-mail ASAP and return you entry form in the post along with the entry fee. I also have to provide team profiles for the event program. I have a number from a couple of years ago, if your team was not involved at the time, please could you e-mail me your teams details as stated on the form. I have some photos which I hope to use, but if you do have any mug shots etc. please forward them on

Perhaps we should all wear BoadMad badges, so we all know who each other are.
