I ordered my black one off Gav yesterday. I'm going down the origional strimmer motor route with mine, 2 stroke mix, intergated fuel tank, loads of torque, makes for an easier build, and no special nitro fuel needed.

The idea is for it to be a real offshore racer. I'm planning to launch it off the back of my propper boat from around 2 miles out.
That way if it all goes t*ts up my boat will have the legs to keep up with it.

I've got the prop and propshaft already and a 2channal Futaba Attac radio control system in my garage waiting for a 'new build'.

The areas for concerne are exhaust and cooling. Not quite sure about solutions yet but working on it 'um' 'um' (any ideas guys?)

I hope you meen the model boats cause 'Sali' ain't got the legs to catch up with your Transilvanian monster.

What about the end of the fishermans pontoon at Littlehampton for a drag race up the Arun to the road bridge and back?

Only downfall with my "electrickery" as gav puts it is i dont know how long its going to last with the motor in gonna run yet? So not sure if it will make it that distance flat out?

IMHO electric is gonna be a pain in the crotch, with a sparky motor, fill her up, pull start, and off ya go, no need to carry anything with you apart from more fuel!!
