Tarantula is a later Stapely Hawk, ski race boat. That was her race name way back when. Wooden hot moulded hull. I have an earlier version of the same boat with an '84 115 Merc stack on her, also an ex ski racer (ex. Dennis Holmes & Jim Cox).

Mimi's (1960 Healey Sprite, newly restored) white Merc is in fact an 80 - never made in white. The owner built it up from bits, painted it white & put '35hp' on to to fool his wife into coming out with him, it's technically her boat as it was paid for with an inheritance from Aunt Mimi!

It was, with tongue in cheek, for boat handling! In reality it was for most improved boat handling. Mind you he did alright in Aix a couple of weeks back which can't be all bad.

Hopefully there will be a few pictures I took out there below now. Taken on Lac Annecy & Lac Bourget (Aix). Fantastic (if you like wood) roll on 2012. I was in a 1961 Chris Craft Continental (small block - as are most from this era inc. a lot of the Riva's).
