Estuary Classic 198?

I've been scanning some negatives I found that I took at Allhallows. I think it was '84 but cant be sure. Recognised most boats but there were a couple i'm not sure on.

Cheers,
G

Should have gone to specsavers
its yellow !!!!!

Think your right Martin Warman went IIIC the following year (ish) with the Ring, so that would make the pic around 83 or 84 - 25 was martin race No

Or as Kay Mortimore used to call him OK Yar Martin!!! LOL.

I think the dyes in the negs may have faded a tad!!!

Just found some of the Southern Speed with a blue hue across them.

I'm pretty sure Martin W. raced his black Phantom in IV D, i.e. with a 115 Merc., not a Yam as shown in the photo. I don't think it's him.

Martin went from the full-size stuff to models and used to come to AYC with his model boat club when we hosted meetings for them.

Bud, that would have been IV E with a 115.
IV D was upto 90hp. Also class IV had the class letter as a prefix. e.g. E8 (Clive Jones old race number).

I'm pretty sure he did a season in IIIB. I'll have to ask Delboy next time I see him.

I should have known that, as I raced with Ian Rowsell in his P16 with a 115 and I think that was E15.

I also raced in IV D in the 70's with a 100 horse Merc, so there must have been a rejig at some time.

I also remember that it was always sunny and that the water at Allhallows was crystal clear, so maybe it's just an age thing.....

Allhallows 1984

If the Boatmad Gallery results are looked into,it reveals that in the 1984 season both Red Rooster (L.Hall) - Cougar cat No5 and Meter Car Co (M.Warman) -Phantom 16 c/w 1 x Yamaha,Boat No 25 raced together, albeit no results were available for allhallows.

Cheers for that.
I had a quick look at Allhallows results but as you said, nothing was posted.
I didn't realise that (Laddie) Graham Palmer navigated for Martin. Another of the Miss Fitz crew from Greenford.
Cheers,
G.

84 Race

I would think it`s almost certainly 84.The only year the two boats raced under those names. In 85 Warman`s boat was merc powered, and Red Rooster became DMS.
