Following on from this thread, I thought that you may be interested to know where HTS/Apache is now........ She's with me, I aquired her from David Hagan about 2 months ago, but didnt want to say too much until I had her home and could fully inspect the condition of the hull. The hull appears to be in good sound condition, but with a few minor stress cracks that are repairable. My intention is now to restore her, and have her able to take part in offshore events once more. once i have worked out how to post pictures, i will add some to the site, and will welcome any comments and advice that you may have. She is without engines and drives, but i think it best to keep her as original as possible to preserve her in her classic state. David is supplying plenty of pictures to help in that respect. I look forward to your comments. Nick.

Hi Nick
David had said to me that he had sold the old boat and looking forward to seeing it racing again.
As you may or may not know I rigged it and looked after the boat all it's life from the beginning 1969 until David Hagan stop racing, so if you need some information or advice on the boat please send me a mail. Jimmy Brooker

DH has given me your number and i would welcome any suggestion/comments and advice from you. At the moment i am trying to ascertain the drive setup she last had, there are Mercruiser 111 outdrive casings, but not complete, and Romans Sabre's bottom drive, with her but i think these were just put together to make the exhibit for the museum. Does anyone have a clear picture of her stern drives, i havent managed to find one yet. I will send you a message with my email address, and i will send you some pics of what i have. Many thanks for your contact and i'll be in touch. Nick.

So glad that you have decided to let people know that you have HTS Nick. Of all the secrets that I am carrying right now that is one of the best pieces of news I have heard in a long time and I was close to bursting to let people know.
It will be soooo good for many of us if you can get her out racing again.
I have been hunting for the full report by MB&Y on Boatmad and found them again on this thread just now so thanks Delta 28, I met a guy in Paris this week who is helping us with CMC and he asked if I could find any reports on that race as his Father took part so I will copy them and print them off and send them to him. His Father will be delighted as you would expect so you will have made one old racers day almost 40 years on so I thank you on his behalf!!
ML.

Another one on its way back...
Well done Nick, glad you got her home safely... will be down your way soon, so i'll give you a call.
Mike: Glad i could help and pleased that i kept "all those crappy old boating magazines". My cracked ceilings (due to the immense weight in the loft!) are worth it after-all... ian

i've had a couple of phone conversations with Carl, but need torque converters to get her to plane - so dont think its viable, but i'm still researching the posibilities. But many thanks for your help.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the problem with torque converters? Being in the auto gearbox business I work with them every day!
